OUR HISTORY
Our story began in 1961 with the foundation of Calzaturificio Susetta, a small artisanal workshop established in Sant’Elpidio a Mare, thanks to the intuition and passion of Vincenzo Raffaeli, affectionately known as “Maceratì”. We are located in the heart of the Fermano-Maceratese footwear district, in Marche region, a land where shoe manufacturing is not just a craft, but a deeply rooted cultural tradition.
Thanks to Vincenzo’s dedication and the contribution of talented and skilled collaborators, the workshop grew to become a footwear manufacturing company specialised in women’s comfort shoes, starting collaborations with major international brands.
In 1981, with Antonio Raffaeli joining the company, supported by his wife Liana and his brother and sister, Calzaturificio GECAS Srl was officially founded. During those years, a partnership with a prestigious international fashion and luxury brand took place, which persists today with continuity and mutual trust.
Alongside Antonio and Liana now works their son Riccardo, representing the third generation at the helm of the company. Nowadays, GECAS is specialised in contract manufacturing of handcrafted men’s and women’s footwear – both classic and sporty – in the mid-to-high and luxury segments, entirely and proudly Made in Italy.
The company continues to uphold its family heritage: tradition, experience and passion come together in the present of GECAS, where shoemaking culture is proudly handed down and continuously renewed, always looking confidently toward the future.
